Dan and Ana Atach with their children, Maya, 3 and 1/2 and Jake, 8 months.

We spoke to Dan and Ana Atach about their favorite Jewish activities, their connection to Jewish community, and the ways jkidphilly has impacted their family.

What do you enjoy about jkidphilly?

We appreciate getting to know other families and learning about ways to incorporate Jewish culture and values to our daily lives.

What kind of Jewish activities do you enjoy at home?

Our Jewish activities include Listening to PJ Library Radio, chanting the Alef Bet and saying Shema before bedtime, reading all the amazing PJ library books and celebrating Shabbat by lighting candles and signing some tunes.

What are your favorite PJ Library books?

“Avi the Ambulance Goes to School” because one of the characters is named after my daughter and “Noah’s Bed” because having a bed that is too crowded is definitely a common occurrence.

Are you part of any other organized Jewish communities?

I attend various events in town at different communities such as SHS, Bnai Abraham and BZBI. When living in the Midwest, I was the president of a Jewish group for young professionals called Madison Minyan in Wisconsin.

What do you think other parents should know about jkidphilly?

jkidphilly is a fun way to form community and get to know other families with young children. jkidphilly connects you with others in your area who have an interest in being Jewish and/or learning about Judaism while helping their little ones appreciate and practice core Jewish values like Tikkum Olam (Repairing the world) and doing good deeds.
