Ometz Lev (Hebrew for “courage”) refers to acts of showing bravery. Ometz Lev is central to the stories of Chanukah, Purim, and Passover and we can use our Jewish stories to inspire courage in our children.
Just as these ancient folk overcame their fears, we can support our children to develop the qualities of perseverance and courage to try new things and activities that might feel scary, like jumping into the pool, getingt up on the bike again after a fall, starting a new school, or saying hello to a new friend.
