Victoria and Sadie Salsman with their favorite PJ Library books.

We spoke to Stacey and Andy Salsman about their favorite Jewish activities, their connection to Jewish community, and the ways jkidphilly has impacted their family.

What do you enjoy about jkidphilly?

Our kids look forward to getting the PJ library books each month. We also love seeing old friends — and making new ones — at various events.

What kind of Jewish activities do you enjoy at home?

Our kids love listening to the Judaic music CDs whenever we are in the car. We’ve heard some songs at least a hundred times! The songs get them excited about learning Hebrew.

What are your favorite PJ Library books?

Our favorite books are Bear Feels Sick, Joseph Had a Little Overcoat, Found, and Only Nine Chairs. Each book teaches us about a specific holiday or how to be better people.

Are you part of any other organized Jewish communities?

Our children attended Jewish Preschool, and we participate in services and activities at both Shir Ami and Beth Sholom congregations.

What do you think other parents should know about jkidphilly?

It’s a great way to meet other Jewish families and share the Jewish experiences you had when you were a kid. It’s nice to know that these experiences will be part of your kids’ memories.
