Description: While the items included in a Shabbat kit might be the same, not all versions work for all families. Create a custom Shabbat kit for your family with options like visual/large print, and/or gender-neutral blessings, accessible kiddush cups with spouts/handles, and allergy-friendly challah recipes. Two participant families will be chosen randomly to receive a Havdalah book that is representative of diverse families! We will share challah and juice for a snack and say the blessings.

*”Shabbat-friendly” craft alternatives will be available. Click here to view jkidphilly’s Shabbat Programming Policy.

Accommodations: Thanks to a generous grant from the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, we are able to provide accommodations for any child or family member with a disability to attend jkidphilly events. If you need an accommodation such as an ASL interpreter, a sensory toolbox, or even behavior support for your child, or if you have questions about the accessibility of any program or venue, please note so on our form or contact us. In most cases, our staff will need two weeks’ notice to provide accommodations, but we will do our best to meet your needs on any timeframe.

Covid Policy: For our in-person events, we’ll work together to take care of our community.

For indoor programming: Non-cloth (n95, KN95, surgical) masks are suggested for children ages 2 years+ and adults

For outdoor programming: Masks are optional

For all programming: Staying at home if anyone in the family has a cold, cough, fever, or other symptoms, or has been exposed to anyone with COVID-19.
