Description: Why wait until Friday afternoon to get ready for Shabbat? This three-part series is hands-on Shabbat prep that will include cooking or crafting with a story and music. We will be making Shabbat goodies and designing Shabbat décor that will add to your family celebrations.

Third Thursdays from 4:00-4:30 PM:

  • December 16, 2021- Soup and Bone Button Borscht
  • January 20, 2022 – Cloth napkins kit and The Shabbat Spice
  • February 17, 2022 – Recycled Centerpieces and The World Needs Beautiful

Materials list for December 16: Vegetable soup for 4 (you can easily double or triple this recipe for a crowd)

This is a very forgiving recipe. You can switch out any vegetables, based on your family’s tastes. Pre-cut veggies from the market make this a breeze. Please contact me with specific questions.

The base includes:

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 large carrots, sliced OR ½ small bag baby carrots
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
    -OR- You can buy pre-made mirepoix
  • I large can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 box vegetable stock
  • I can beans, such as chickpeas, black beans, or cannellini beans
  • Cubed sweet potatoes
  • Sliced zucchini
  • Frozen peas or corn (optional – to quickly cool soup)
  • Spices – oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Location: Your home! You will receive the zoom link after registration.
