Description: Join Jackie Jonas for an in-person cooking demonstration and workshop focusing on Passover traditions and recipes. This session is geared for adults — parents/caregivers and grandparents. Participants will learn to make a Moroccan Pesach soup and two versions of charoset based on the Sephardic and African American traditions. We will also discuss and sample some of the foods that appear on Jackie’s table at the seder and throughout the Passover season. Through stories and recipes we will discover the power of food to connect our children to all sides of their heritage.

The mother of an African American Jewish daughter, Jackie has spent years thinking about how to help her daughter and now her granddaughter navigate the complexities of that intersection. As a cook and cooking coach, food has played a pivotal role in helping them make that journey.
