Description: Come and join jkid4all, Folkshul, and the JCC for an intergenerational morning of service focused on engaging kids, grownups and grandparents in helping the greater Philadelphia community in a hands-on morning of projects and education.
Our goal for the day is to celebrate Dr King’s life, honor his vision and contribute to our community in order to continue Dr. King’s legacy. It is our intention to go beyond charity projects for the day, and engage with the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion with our participants.
The activities for the morning are:
- A children’s concert featuring muscicians Two of a Kind
- Making bread in a bag
- Putting together 100+ toiletry bags for the Mitzvah Pantry
- Creating no-sew fleece scarves for Face2Face Germantown
- Read alouds with books focused on social justice, social activism, and tikkun olam (repair of the world)
