Description: Join Lori Zlotoff, LCSW from the URJ Camp Harlam team to discuss how they provide all campers with an inclusive experience, scaffolding accommodations and meeting needs with an “aid and fade” approach that helps empower counselors to assist campers in having a successful experience. This workshop is specifically designed for both parents, educators, clergy and educational leaders.
Bio: Lori Zlotoff, LCSW has been in the field of social work for over 20 years, and in the camping industry for more than 12, currently serving as the REDI and Camper Care Manager at URJ Camp Harlam. She has worked collaboratively with her team at Harlam to continue to cultivate a space of well-being and overall wellness for campers to be their best selves at camp. She has become a trusted name in the field for her work around inclusion, both of campers with disabilities, but also campers of color and from the LGBTQ community. She was also instrumental in starting the first vocational education program at Harlam in 2023 called Avodah, for adults with developmental disabilities. Lori is certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor, and trains staff each summer in this apprach. Lori received her undergraduate degree from Binghamton University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice in 2001. In addition, she participated in a dual program with Gratz College, receiving a graduate certificate in Jewish education. Lori has worked for last 23 years in New York in a variety of settings, and she currently owns her own private practice, specializing in anxiety in children, gender transitions and issues around ADHD and ASD diagnoses.
