Hello, my name is Mackenzie Rosin. I am a senior in high school and reading has always been an integral part of my life. From the nights when my parents read me bedtime stories to the day I got my very own library card, many of my childhood memories happened with a book in hand. I even drew on this passion for my bat mitzvah project and collected over 1,500 books to donate to Philadelphia Reads, an organization that provides access to books for teachers and the community. The simple joy of curling up with a book and escaping into the world of one’s own imagination is one that I want to pass on to other kids.
To earn my Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, I’ll be creating a children’s library stocked with PJ Library books at the Kaiserman JCC. This space will provide age-appropriate books to the local community and a cozy environment for events and activities. In order to make this project come to life, I need your help! Please consider donating gently used PJ Library books so that they can be shared with others that visit my free little library. Collection bins will be located at the Kaiserman JCC in Wynnewood (45 Haverford Road) and at Congregation Beth El—Ner Tamid in Broomall (715 Paxon Hollow Road). Thank you in advance for your support and stay tuned for more news about my little PJ library!
