How do we teach our children to live in harmony with the world?  By starting from the very beginning…with Adam and Eve and a big fuzzy bee!  Long before there were words like “ecology” and “environment,” the ancient rabbis wondered about the first beings and how they learned to live in harmoney with the diverse range of creatures that inhabit the earth.  During Rosh ha-Shanah, we celebrate the birthday of the world, but from past to present, we still struggle to understand how we relate to all the different parts of creation.

On erev Rosh ha-Shanah, GJC invites you to enter a lush dreamscape where life-size puppets tell the story of how the tradition of eating apples and honey on this holiday first began.  How did Adam and Eve discover that honey was good?  And how did they meet that fuzzy bee?  Come to the Garden of Eden to find out!

Original narration by Rabbi Adam Zeff, music by Raji Malik, and puppetry by early childhood specialist Anna Goldberg, Rabbi Alanna Sklover, and Becca Richman.

Please consider joining us for GJC’s Rosh ha-Shanah Community Dinner, which immediately follows the program.  The dinner is $9/adult, $5/child age 2+.

Please register for the JAM program and/or dinner by Friday, September 30th at 9 AM.
