Description: Jewish Children’s Folkshul and Adult Community (www.folkshul.org) will celebrate Chanukah with a community holiday program from 10 – 11 am and a party from 11 am – 1pm. We will dance, sing, eat, play games, and remember the story of a small band of people working together to overcome great odds. If you’ve heard about Folkshul (an inclusive secular cultural Jewish community) and you’ve been wanting to join us, this is a great time to come and see what we’re all about! We will also be working together to better the odds for the people of Dominica, devastated by Hurricane Maria a few months ago. We are partnering with Avril Somerville and the Jenkintown Salem Baptist Church community in this effort. Avril spoke at Folkshul’s MLK program last January, and now we reunite with her and her community to help collect some much-needed food and supplies for the people in Dominica struggling to rebuild.
