April: The Barazani Family
Laynie and Leor enjoy teaching their sons Benjamin (4) and Noah (2) about Jewish values.
Laynie and Leor spoke about their favorite Jewish activities, their connection to Jewish community, and the ways jkidphilly has impacted their family.
What do you enjoy about jkidphilly?
We have been coming to jkidphilly events since Benjamin was 2 months old! It was the way I made all of my Mom friends. We have continued to attend and support the events. I enjoy doing something fun with my kids that is Jewish and educational. I think the programs are phenomenal and will continue to support jkid for many, many years.
What kind of Jewish activities do you enjoy at home?
We read all the PJ Library books, we do Shabbat dinner almost every week, we make Challah together, and we love singing Jewish music that my son learns from school.
What are your favorite PJ Library books?
We really enjoy Sammy Spider’s First Yom Kippur, The Littlest Pair, and Shabbat is Coming.
Are you part of any other organized Jewish communities?
We belong to Beth Sholom Synagogue in Elkins Park. My son Benjamin attends their Early Learning Center and my son Noah will start school September 2017.
What do you think other parents should know about jkidphilly?
It is a very warm, welcoming, loving group that makes everyone feel comfortable. The education they provide and projects they do always make their events a great experience.
I remember being a new Mom and not from this area, and I just showed up to an event. Everyone welcomed me and made me feel so comfortable and happy. That is the day I made my Mom friends. They are my best friends now, and it all started at my first jkidphilly event!
