The Center City Kehillah, Challah for Hunger, Makom Community, and Repair the
World have partnered in Philadelphia to host an MLK-Bake a Difference Event
from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, January 18. Together, we’ll explore how
each of us can make a difference in this world, where hunger and food
insecurity are such pervasive issues.
During this all-ages event, participants will learn about hunger in
Philadelphia while putting MLK Day in a Jewish context. The parallel learning
sessions for adults and for families with children will be led by Rabbi Seth
Goren from Repair the World and Beverly Socher-Lerner from Makom Community.
Attendees will leave with a braided challah ready for baking!
Cost is $5 per individual or $10 per family – includes snacks, challah to
take home, and a donation to help stop hunger locally and nationally. Please
